DESIGNER/COMPANY/LOCATION:
Abraham Paz:
Paz was a renown Master silversmith and designer in 20th century Mexico. He is recognized for unique modern designs and sculptural stones as well as his carved obsidian mask and shield designs. Paz designed and produced jewelry for the famous Frederick Davis whose work, along with Spratling’s,
left a lasting mark on the Mexican crafts industry. He was also one of the top silversmiths at Sanborn’s retail shop in Mexico City where he worked with the likes of
Ezequiel Gomez and Valentin Vidaurreta. In addition, Paz briefly produced his own line of jewelry which he signed AP and these pieces are hard to find. Other identifying marks were used for Davis and Sanborn pieces, namely cAp & A.Paz, respectively.

Vintage condition
! Very minor surface wear and the gem is spectacular. *NOTE: That is
not
a crack in the lower portion of the piece, but rather an inclusion and a natural part of the gem. This is highly exaggerated in my super magnified, Canon photos, and is barely seen with the naked eye.
