Antique Advertising Bowl
Description:
Presented for your consideration is this beautiful antique advertising bowl. The spongeware, stoneware bowl has a brown and blue coloration against a natural grey background. Around the exterior of the bowl is a molded panel design with a small lip around the top edge. Interior of the bowl is a natural grey color with advertising on the inside bottom in blue. Advertising reads "Your Dollars Have More Cents. W. H. Damm & Co. Collins, Wis." The bowl is finished with a smooth glaze. The bowl was made by Red Wing and is a harder to find piece of advertising spongeware made by them. The bowl is guaranteed to be old and all original. This neat bowl would make a great addition to any spongeware, stoneware or advertising collection!
A hairline crack is on the bottom and extends to the side of the bowl approximately 1". Part of this crack is visible on the interior. A small surface chip is on the top edge. There is an indented line in the bottom of the bowl but is a flaw from manufacturing. Typical light wear from age and use. Overall in VERY GOOD condition. Sold AS FOUND. Measures 7 3/8" in diameter at the widest point and 4 1/2" tall.
