  • Condition: This feeder has been used and shows signs of use… but to me is in nice condition for its age. There are no hairlines or cracks on this piece. If you tap it with your knuckle, it rings like a bell. There are a few small chippies and rough spots on the bottom of the three protruding seating bases, but those would be very normal wear for a utilitarian piece like this that was likely used daily on the farm.

    Description

    At auction is a nice, vintage Red Wing Ko-Rec Chicken Feeder stoneware top piece made by the Red Wing Potteries in Minnesota I’m guessing sometime in and around the 1950s.  This feeder has been used and shows signs of use… but to me is in nice condition for its age.  There are no hairlines or cracks on this piece. If you tap it with your knuckle, it rings like a bell.  There are a few small chippies and rough spots on the bottom of the three protruding seating tabs, but those would be very normal wear for a utilitarian piece like this that was likely used daily on the farm.  The handle is original and the handle housings are clean and free of damage.  Many times those housings got chipped or broken out.  The wording is all legible and the piece is nice and clean. This piece stands approximately 10 inches tall with a 7" diameter (excluding protruding tabs) and it is heavy.  Please take a look at all the photos provided and judge the condition of this piece for yourself.  If you like collecting Red Wing stoneware or pottery, this piece would add that nice farm/country touch to your collection. Please email me with any questions you may have on this feeder top.  Thank You for viewing this auction, and Thank You for your bid.
