This basic design has been around for many different years. Anyone selling this identical looking tool is giving you a much better chain breaker than the ones being sold by the Chinese here on eBay that do not share this same basic shape. We took this basic design and improved upon it making it a better choice.
Buy ours and our competitors then compare them side by side. We happily pay for shipping to return ours if it does not meet your satisfaction in any way. Caution! All of the listings at the top of the page on eBay are from Chinese sellers selling inferior products that do not work. Buy them to save some money and you will see what I mean. After they fail remember we do have a product that does work and will for many years.
    What's better?
In one of the pictures above you will see a chamfered countersink hole where the threaded bolt contacts the pin on your chain. We designed this larger countersunk hole to cradle the pin so that it cannot slide from side to side as pressure builds to push the pin out.
Other chain breakers that look like ours do not have this countersunk hole and will tend to slide from side to side as the "breaking pressure" builds. This added compression puts lateral pressure on the pin in the chain breaker making it not only harder to compress, but this lateral pressure will cause the pin itself to break easier. We do sell replacement pins but it’s much less likely you will need to replace ours. I am not sure our competitors even sell replacement pins for theirs. Once its broken you will need to buy a whole new tool. Not with ours. Our pins will not fit other chain breakers even those identical in appearance. Its designed to work with our main body not the others.
Why buy this chain breaker over all of the other chain breakers on eBay?
All Chain Breakers need a light greasing or oil to keep threads smooth and easier to thread down as the pressure build up to push the pin out. None come pre-lubed (ours does) and many people do not realize this should happen to not only make it easier to crank down but also to keep thread life last longer. See our pictures above that shows the light clear grease pre-installed.
    Other Reasons?
First we do sell a better chain breaker. It’s our larger professional chain breaker and it can be found at this link:
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/Professional-Motorcycle-Chain-Breaker-Kit-KTM-MXC-XC-W-XC-EXC-SX-125-250-300-450/292777550678?hash=item442ae6e356:g:XvkAAOSw5E9
    .
We have a special low price on this tool right now but this breaker is large and will not fit in your mobile toolbox or fanny pack making it less ideal as your all around chain breaker needs. If you can afford both I would highly suggest buying one of each keeping this smaller pro chain breaker in your fanny pack the other at home.
So why this design over all of the numerous cheaper Chinese chain breakers?
We tested every different chain breaker design that you see on eBay and all failed but one. We ordered 1,000 of them but the products that came in were not the same steel and even worse the tempering was done poorly or not at all. Not only did the pins on the chain breaker bend on any chain size over 428 but the threads on the hollow bolts STRIPPED OUT! I had a hard time getting the factory to understand just how bad the failure was so on one of my trips to China I brought a 520 chain with me to have them test it themselves. They were embarrassed at the epic failure but would not take the chain breakers back. So I lost a lot of money and pulled all production of other tools from that factory. After 3 years I finally found a factory that had the ability to buy the proper tool steel and find the ultimate tempering process to make the main body as well as the pin last though at least 50 chain breaks. That's a lifetime for most users.
