    Description

    Offered for sale is a beautiful and LARGE ceramic console bowl from Red Wing Pottery of Red Wing, Minnesota, U.S.A. It is marked 1304 RED WING U.S.A. on the bottom (picture 4).  The bowl has a freeform blob shape with the rim turned inward. It's covered in a glossy deep red or maroon glaze inside, and a matte-finish pale gray glaze outside.  This is a very Mid Century Modern form, introduced in 1947.
    The console bowl measures 13 1/4 inches (33.7cm) long, 9 inches (22.9cm) wide, and stands 2 1/4 inches (5.7cm) tall. A U.S quarter is included in the second picture, to give an accurate impression of the size at a glance.
    There are no chips, cracks, scratches or repairs on this bowl, and no fading or discoloration of the glaze.  There is one tiny surface flaw or crease in the glaze (picture 5). It is less than 1/2 inch (1.3cm) long, and does not detract from the beauty of this fine midcentury modern ceramic piece.
