Description
Offered for sale is a beautiful glazed ceramic BOWL from Red Wing Pottery of Red Wing, Minnesota, U.S.A. It is marked RED WING U.S.A. 790 on the bottom (pictures 7 and 8). It is part of Red Wing's PRISMATIQUE line. The Prismatique pieces have a spiky geometric shape, and this bowl is no exception with its angular design and eight-pointed star rim. It's covered with a smooth matte-finish peachy-orange glaze on the inside, and with a glossy eggshell-white glaze outside. The Prismatique line was designed by the legendary Belle Kogan, and was introduced in 1962.The bowl measures 8 1/2 inches (21.6cm) in diameter, and stands 3 1/8 inches (7.9cm) tall to the fluted rim. A U.S quarter is included in the third and fourth pictures, to give an accurate impression of the size at a glance.
There are no chips, cracks, scratches or repairs on this bowl, and no fading or discoloration of the glaze. One tiny popped bubble is visible in the orange glaze (ten-o-clock position in pictures 4 and 5) and one small spot of orange glaze appears on the white exterior (picture 9).
