Some information about this remarkable note:
The Obverse
shows a large image of the Asoka Lion Capital (the official symbol of Sovereignty of the Government of Independent India) which replaced the portrait of George VI. The language on this Note was English, (except for the Indian languages depicted on the Languages Panel on its Reverse) AND the inclusion of "incorrect" Hindi spelling that reads Dus Rupiye instead of "Rupiya", right below 'Ten Rupees' in the middle.
The Reverse shows the note's denomination in seven regional Indian languages (in words) on the left.
In the center is a picture of a two-masted, three-sail cargo-laden boat, with mountains to the left and clouds above.
On the right is a watermark of the Asoka Column
On the right and left sides are palm trees.
Bottom Center is the Seal of the Reserve Bank of India. To the left of this seal is Rupees Ten in English and again "incorrect" Hindi spelling that
reads Dus Rupiye instead of "Rupiya"
Superb example for the picky collector! Great conversation piece!
